GI was awarded the opportunity of an open innovation initiative with SNAM. The pilot project was based on New Artificial Leaf (NAL) technology, an autonomous device that can solve the problem of storing energy from renewable sources. By storing solar energy into chemical bonds of green hydrogen, it uses H2O and sunlight to produce clean water and green energy (electricity or hydrogen). The challenge named “Super Green H2” focused on the Solar2Hydrogen component of the NAL technology, through the analysis and prototyping of a new proof of concept related to the production of Green Hydrogen and the identification of the main KPIs related to the future industrialization of the technology.
